The Masters at Augusta National has arrived for another year with four Australians in the hunt to clinch the nation’s first green jacket since Adam Scott in 2013.
Scott is among the quartet, which also includes runners-up Cameron Smith and Jason Day, plus emerging Western Australian Min Woo Lee.

Though Lee is the lowest-ranked and youngest Australian, veteran Scott, who is 45 and making his 98th consecutive appearance at a major, is no less optimistic about his own chances.
“Gary Woodland won in his 40s two weeks ago, Rosie (Justin Rose) won a few weeks before that so maybe it’s the start of a 40-something revival,” he said.
Scott is yet to miss a cut this year and has a top-10 finish to his name after coming fourth at the Genesis Invitational.
He said that some changes to his iron play has him in a strong position to contend this week despite being one of the older players in the field.

“This year is looking better for me than the last few if I’m being honest,” he said.
“I haven’t been able to quite put it all together to win this season but it’s been very close.
“It feels like a very fine line the top end of leaderboards and getting it done and it wouldn’t surprise me if it all lined up and I was in contention with a chance. That’s really what we’re all aiming for.”
Meanwhile, fellow Australian Geoff Ogilvy described Scott’s ability to remain one of the longest-hitters on tour as “incredible”.
“It’s a testament to his drive and work ethic and how good of an athlete he is. He’s a bit of a physical specimen. He would’ve been the longest guy in his group most of his career but to still be doing it at 45 is crazy,” he said.
